Sonoma Valley proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by three) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Windsor Jaguars 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Dragons have posted since April 10th.
Sonoma Valley got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 24-26, 29-31, 25-23, 15-13.
Damian Aceves paced Sonoma Valley's offense, picking up 17 kills. Aceves got some help from Skyler Allan Parker and his 22 assists. Allan Parker was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.
Sonoma Valley's victory bumped their record up to 13-11. As for Windsor, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-10 record this season.
