Owen came tearing into Monday's match with six straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Erwin Warriors by a score of 3-1. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Warhorses also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2024.

Owen had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 25-16, 25-19, 25-19.

Mia Roland paced Owen's offense, picking up 19 kills. Roland got some help from Kenzie Robinson and her 35 assists. Roland also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Easton Whitson, each putting up three.

Owen's win bumped their record up to 17-1. As for Erwin, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season.

Owen will face off against Madison at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Erwin, they will square off against Asheville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
