West Rowan faced East Rowan in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Falcons blew past the Mustangs 9-2. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won 13 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Carter Durant and Cole Blevins made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Durant pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Blevins tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. At the plate, Durant went 1-for-2 with four RBI, while Blevins went 1-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Maddox Moore was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Pope, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

The victory was the fourth in a row for West Rowan, bringing their record up to 23-4. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for East Rowan, the defeat snapped their winning streak at seven games and leaves them with a 22-5 record.

As of now, neither West Rowan nor the Mustangs have any future games scheduled.
