Athens typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Lincoln County proved too difficult a challenge. They skirted past the Golden Eagles 2-1. The victory was familiar territory for the Falcons, who have now won four games in a row.

Brenna Edwards spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Hana Corder was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Lincoln County's win bumped their record up to 24-5-2. As for Athens, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-11 record this season.

Lincoln County will face off against Lawrence County at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Athens, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 15-4 defeat against Sparkman on the 10th.
