Flag Football Game Preview: Norte Vista Braves vs. Ramona Rams

Norte Vista and Ramona are an even 3-3 against one another since September of 2023, but not for long. The Braves will face off against the Rams at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Norte Vista 7.9, Ramona 11.9) so any points scored will be well earned.

Norte Vista's offense might be in the hot seat on Monday considering what happened against Redlands Adventist Academy on Tuesday. They took a 6-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs. Considering the last time the Braves couldn't score was back in September, the team can't take the result too hard.

Even if they lost, Norte Vista's defense still kept up the pressure with six sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Sela Suliafu. She has been hot, having posted at least one sack the last six times she's played.

Ramona never got on the board in their matchup on Monday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against La Sierra on Tuesday. They walked away with a 33-25 win over the Eagles. Considering the Rams' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Ramona's victory bumped their record up to 12-10-1. As for Norte Vista, they now have a losing record of 8-9.

Norte Vista was able to grind out a solid win over Ramona in their previous matchup back in September, winning 7-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Braves since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
