Basketball Game Preview: Ron Brown Monarchs vs. Woodson Warriors

The Ron Brown Monarchs will take on the Woodson Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with six consecutive losses for Ron Brown and ten for Woodson.

Ron Brown is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Lackey on Monday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Ron Brown was beaten by Lackey 51-16. The Monarchs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-5.

Despite their defeat, Ron Brown saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Hunter Brown, who posted six points and seven boards, was perhaps the best of all. Darrin Rado was another key player, putting up five points and five steals.

Meanwhile, Woodson didn't have quite enough to beat DC International on Monday and fell 2-0. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Warriors were not able to get on the board.

Ron Brown's loss dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Woodson, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-13.

Ron Brown came up short against Woodson in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 59-49. Can Ron Brown avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
