Softball Recap: Hixson Wildcats vs. Signal Mountain Eagles
While Hixson's win against Signal Mountain wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Wildcats sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 victory over the Eagles on Tuesday. The win was nothing new for the Wildcats as they're now sitting on three straight.
The team relied heavily on Landry Bruggink, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (two). Chloe Turner was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Hixson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Signal Mountain only posted a batting average of .207.
