Baseball Recap: Auburn Comes Up Short

Auburn easily dispatched Oak Mountain on Saturday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Auburn fell just short of the St. Peter's Prep Marauders by a score of 5-3 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Tigers have suffered since February 15th.

Wilson Foster was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was JB Upton, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.

Auburn has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-11 record this season. St. Peter's Prep's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3.

Auburn and St. Peter's Prep will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. Auburn is set to face off against their familiar foe Central at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, St. Peter's Prep will challenge rival Ferris at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
