Northshore is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Thursday. They will welcome the Salmen Spartans at 3:30 p.m. Northshore's pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so Salmen's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Carson Malasovich spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on eight hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Salmen). They blew past Varnado 18-3 on Monday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Spartans considering their two-run performance the game before.

Salmen moved to 4-13-2 with that victory, which also ended their seven-game losing streak. As for Northshore, their win bumped their record up to 18-4-1.
