Basketball Recap: Leadership Academy Comes Up Short

Leadership Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 56-52 heartbreaker at the hands of the Winston-Salem Prep Phoenix. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Phoenix this season, with their most recent loss being a 70-60 defeat last Thursday.

When it comes to explaining why Leadership Academy lost, don't look at Caleb Foster. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 19 points and 12 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Burleyson, who posted 11 points and three steals.

Leadership Academy's loss dropped their record down to 15-10. As for Winston-Salem Prep, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups, which somehow still isn't as good as their 19-5 record this season.

As of now, neither Leadership Academy nor Winston-Salem Prep have any future games scheduled.
