Recap: Gering Bulldogs vs. McCook Bison
If the Gering Bulldogs were feeling good off their 63-35 takedown of the Mitchell Tigers last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Gering fell just short of McCook by a score of 48-46. Gering was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as McCook apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Despite the defeat, Gering saw an underclassman step up: Jacelyn Brown scored nine points along with six rebounds and six steals. Brown has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Makenzie Todd, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Gering's loss dropped their record down to 6-15. As for McCook, their victory bumped their record up to 9-10.
Gering didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 67-47 defeat vs. North Platte on the 10th. McCook has also already played their next matchup, a 44-30 loss against Scottsbluff on the 10th.
