Baseball Recap: IMG Academy Blue Wins Going Away Against Lakewood Ranch Preparatory Academy

IMG Academy Blue's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They blew past the Lakewood Ranch Preparatory Academy Eagles 14-4. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Ascenders considering their two-run performance the game before.

IMG Academy Blue got a great performance from Henry Melmed as he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. Those eight strikeouts gave Melmed a new career-high.

At the plate, Charles Chenail was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with five stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kapono Kaha'i, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs.

IMG Academy Blue always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .586. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

IMG Academy Blue's win bumped their record up to 13-11. As for Lakewood Ranch Preparatory Academy, they dropped their record down to 6-6 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

As of now, neither IMG Academy Blue nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
