            For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last five times Pyramid Lake and Virginia City have met, but the home crowd finally got their W  on Tuesday. The Lakers blew past the Muckers 15-3. That's two games straight that the Lakers have won by  exactly 12  runs.
 John Kelly and  William Darrough made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound,  Kelly   pitched two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. Meanwhile,  Darrough   pitched four innings while giving up just two earned  (and one unearned) runs off   three  hits. Kelly also  tossed  no  walks, which is notable because Pyramid Lake is 5-2 when he allows at  most  one  walk, but 2-5 otherwise. At the plate,  Kelly  went 1-for-4 with two  stolen bases, three  RBI,  and one  run, while  Darrough  got on base  in three of his four plate appearances with four  stolen bases, two  runs,  and one  RBI. Kelly has been hot, having  posted  at least one  stolen base the last five times he's  played.

 In other batting news,  Floyd Shaw was  incredible,  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances with three  stolen bases and three  runs. Those  three  stolen bases gave  him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of  Elias Jackson, who  got on base  in three of his four plate appearances with two  stolen bases and two  runs.
 Pyramid Lake  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .541. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Virginia City only posted  an  OBP of  .296.
Pyramid Lake pushed their record up to 7-7 with the  victory, which was their third straight  at home. The  home  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Virginia City,  they are  on  an  11-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 2-17.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pyramid Lake will head out to  square off against Wells  at 10:00  a.m.  on Saturday. The Leopards will roll in looking for their  12th straight  victory, something the Lakers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Virginia City, they will head out on the road to  face off against  Carlin  at 10:00  a.m.  on Saturday. The Muckers are facing the Railroaders at the right time seeing as the Railroaders are stuck on  a  16-game losing streak.
