Basketball Game Preview: North White Vikings vs. Pioneer Panthers

North White and Pioneer are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2017, but not for long. The North White Vikings will face off against the Pioneer Panthers at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Both are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

North White is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. Everything went their way against South Newton as North White made off with a 51-27 win. The Vikings' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Pioneer had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They were the clear victor by a 34-13 margin over Caston on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Panthers have posted against the Comets since February 2, 2021.

The win made it two in a row for North White and bumps their season record up to 9-14. As for Pioneer, their victory bumped their record up to 11-12.

North White came up short against Pioneer when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 35-28. Can North White avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
