Basketball Recap: Tullahoma Takes a Loss

Tullahoma was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They lost 59-34 to the Cookeville Cavaliers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 60-49 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2019.

Cookeville was led to victory by Allie Gillies and Cara Lee Gilbert. Gillies went 11 of 18 on her way to 28 points along with six boards and three steals, while Gilbert went 7 of 13 en route to 17 points and four steals. The dominant performance gave Gillies a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Macy Hudson, who posted seven points and five rebounds.

Tullahoma now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Cookeville, their win bumped their record up to 7-3.

Tullahoma didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 49-34 victory against Westmoreland on the 28th. As for Cookeville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 72-21 win against DeKalb County on the 28th.
