Volleyball Game Preview: Lemon Bay Manta Rays vs. Dunedin Falcons + How To Watch

The Lemon Bay Manta Rays will square off against the Dunedin Falcons at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lemon Bay is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.

Lemon Bay is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Hardee.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-20, 25-8.

Lemon Bay can attribute much of their success to Maisyn Pierce, who had seven aces and five digs, and Natalie Googins, who had 12 digs and four aces. Those seven aces gave Pierce a new career-high.

They weren't the only good servers: Lemon Bay was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in four consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Dunedin, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Tarpon Springs 3-2. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Spongers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Dunedin had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 22-25, 23-25, 25-19, 25-22, 15-5.

Dunedin's win bumped their record up to 12-6. As for Lemon Bay, their victory bumped their record up to 19-9.

Lemon Bay took their win against Dunedin in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Manta Rays repeat their success, or do the Falcons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
