University Lab is on a six-game streak of home wins, while Catholic is on a five-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. University Lab is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let Madison Prep Academy get on the board and left with a 15-0 win on Tuesday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Cubs with their most commanding win of the season.
Luke Ewing was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Lane Mixon was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Jaris Hamilton was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
University Lab always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Catholic got the win against St. Martin's Episcopal on Monday by a conclusive 9-2. The result was nothing new for the Bears, who have now won 13 games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Tanner Forbes looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jack Ruckert, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. Another player making a difference was Edward Henriquez, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Catholic has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for University Lab, their win bumped their record up to 19-7.
