Basketball Recap: Indian Creek Piles Up the Points Against Earlville

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Hinckley-Big Rock, Indian Creek was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They breezed by the Earlville Red Raiders to the tune of 56-29. The Timberwolves have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 25 points or more this season.

Leading Indian Creek to victory were Isabella Turner and Bethany Odle. Turner dropped a double-double on 24 points and 17 rebounds, while Odle went 8 of 16 en route to 16 points and five boards. With that strong performance, Turner is now averaging an impressive 8.5 boards per game. Another player making a difference was Ally Keilman, who posted six points.

Indian Creek was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Earlville only posted four assists.

Despite the defeat, Earlville saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Addie Scherer had eight points and ten rebounds. Scherer is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Bailey Miller, who put up four points and eight boards.

Indian Creek's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-6. As for Earlville, they moved to 7-17 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Indian Creek has already played their next contest, a 64-38 defeat against Serena on the 23rd. As for Earlville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 61-31 victory against Hiawatha on the 23rd.
