Softball Recap: Tinora Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Defiance, Tinora was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They walked away with a 7-3 win over the Hicksville Aces. The victory continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Aces: they've now won six in a row.

Zoe Billings made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Madison Spangler and Paige Gamby did most of the damage at the plate: Spangler went 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs, while Gamby went a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, two runs, and two RBI. Those two triples gave Gamby a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Savannah Schroeder, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Tinora's record is now 9-12. As for Hicksville, their record now sits at 10-13.

Coming up, Tinora will face off against Ayersville at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Pilots will roll in looking for their 14th straight win, something the Rams surely won't give up without a fight. Hicksville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
