Chalker hadn't done well against Grand Valley recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way  on Friday. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp  14-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won eight games by ten  runs or more  so far this season.
 Tatum Hudak and  Gabby Hromada were major factors no matter where they played. On the mound,  Hudak   pitched two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. Meanwhile,  Hromada   pitched three innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   four  hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in four consecutive appearances. At bat,  Hudak  went a perfect 4-for-4 with one  home run, three  runs,  and three  RBI, while  Hromada  went 3-for-4 with three  runs and two  doubles. That's the most  runs  Hromada has posted since back in April of 2024.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Kelsey Kren, who  went 2-for-5 with one  home run and three  runs.  Alaynah Cox also deserves some recognition as  she  hit her first  double of the season.
Chalker has  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record  this season. Those  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Grand Valley,  they are  on  a  four-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 8-12.
 Coming up, Chalker will be taking part in a tournament against Lowellville  at 5:00  p.m.  on Monday. The Wildcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rockets have averaged an impressive 6.5  runs per game this season. Grand Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
