After flying high against Lubbock T last Friday, Westbrook came back down to earth. The Wildcats fell just short of the Ira Bulldogs by a score of 14-13 on Tuesday. The Wildcats' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Lillian Gibson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored four runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-3. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Savannah Chavez, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-4.

Westbrook's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 7-9. As for Ira, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-4.

Westbrook does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Ira, they will be playing at home against Lubbock Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs will need to watch out since the Eagles have now posted at least ten runs in their last six contests.
