Softball Recap: Winn Mavericks vs. Southside Cardinals

Winn managed to slip by Southside the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Winn Mavericks lost 12-6 to the Southside Cardinals on Tuesday. The Mavericks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cardinals apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Mayte Figueroa was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, she tossed six innings while giving up three earned (and nine unearned) runs off five hits. Figueroa was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
