Recap: Decatur Community Red Devils vs. Rawlins County Buffaloes

After flying high against the Ness City Eagles last Friday, the Decatur Community Red Devils came back down to earth. Decatur Community fell 39-27 to Rawlins County on Friday. Decatur Community was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Rawlins County apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.

Several Red Devils players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brylee Minnick, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and two blocks. Kamryn Oien was another key contributor, scoring seven points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rawlins County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Abby Micek, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and five steals. Micek has been hot recently, having posted four or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kayte Shively, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and two steals.

Decatur Community's loss dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Rawlins County, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 17-4.

Decatur Community does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Rawlins County, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Quinter on March 2nd. Rawlins County is coming into the contest with five straight victories on the road, so Quinter will have to stop a team with plenty of momentum.
