Basketball Recap: Independence Comes Up Short

Independence lost against Kellis back in January of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Independence Patriots took a blow against the Kellis Cougars, falling 86-59.

It was another big night for Jordan Parrish, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 11 boards for Kellis. The match was Parrish's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gak Kueth, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds.

Independence's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-3. As for Kellis, their win bumped their record up to 2-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Independence will welcome North at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Kellis, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Washington at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
