Soccer Game Preview: Glen Burnie vs. North County

The Glen Burnie Gophers will square off against the North County Knights on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Wednesday, Glen Burnie needed a bit of extra time to put away Eastern Tech. They won by a goal and slipped past the Mavericks 3-2. The score was all tied up 1-1 at the break, but Glen Burnie were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, it can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but North County had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They never let the Mustangs get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory. That looming 8-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for North County yet this season.

North County's win bumped their record up to 3-9. As for Glen Burnie, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4-1 record this season.

Glen Burnie was able to grind out a solid victory over North County in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, winning 2-0. Do the Gophers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Knights turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
