Football Recap: Sprayberry Piles Up the Points Against Woodstock

Sprayberry came tearing into Friday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25.5 points), and they left with even more momentum. They breezed past the Woodstock Wolverines to the tune of 62-14. The Yellow Jackets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by 34 points or more this season.

Sprayberry got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ian Hulbert out in front who rushed for 129 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only ten carries. What's more, Hulbert posted two rushing touchdowns, the most he's had since back in September of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jaden Duckett, who rushed for 75 yards and one TD on only six carries.

Sprayberry's run defense was locked in: Woodstock could only muster 2.4 yards per carry. While three picked up at least nine total tackles, Reyzon Bachman stood above the rest. He made nine total tackles (1.0 for loss). Sprayberry didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 10.3.

Sprayberry's record is now 9-1. As for Woodstock, they dropped their record down to 6-4 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. After each having a week off, Sprayberry and Lee County will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:00 p.m. on the 14th. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 1,060 yards in their previous games. As for Woodstock, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Thomas County Central at 7:00 p.m. on the 14th. The Wolverines will need to watch out since the Yellow Jackets have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
