Basketball Recap: Eastern Randolph Takes a Loss

Eastern Randolph lost against Wheatmore back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Eastern Randolph Wildcats lost 53-32 to the Wheatmore Warriors. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 433rd, while the Warriors are ranked 172nd).

Eastern Randolph's loss was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Wheatmore, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-2.

Eastern Randolph will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Asheboro at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Wheatmore and Bethany Community will round out the year against one another at at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday. Bethany Community will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Wheatmore surely won't give up without a fight.
