Softball Recap: Hernando Beats Center Hill for Their Fourth Straight Win

Hernando put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Center Hill Mustangs a 10-0 shutout. Considering the Tigers have won three games by more than nine runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Kate Johnson looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Olivia Higginbotham was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while going 1-for-3. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in stolen bases. Callie Desmond was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Hernando pushed their record up to 4-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Center Hill, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coincidentally, Hernando and Center Hill will both be playing Senatobia the next time they take the field. Hernando will head out to face Senatobia at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Center Hill will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
