Football Recap: Person Takes a Loss

Person extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 4-6. They had to suffer through a 56-12 loss at the hands of the Williams Bulldogs. The Rockets were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-12.

When it comes to explaining why Person lost, don't look at John Elkerson. Despite the final result, he picked up 115 receiving yards and one score, and also punched in one rushing score. Elkerson didn't just play on offense: he also picked up a sack and made three total tackles.

As for Williams, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-1. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 44.0 points over those games.

Williams' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jazian Bigelow led the charge by rushing for 97 yards and three touchdowns, while also picking up 32 receiving yards. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Bigelow a new career-high. Kyrian Fuller was in the mix too, providing Williams with two TDs.

Looking ahead, Person will venture away from home to face off against J.F. Webb at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Williams does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
