Volleyball Recap: Rampart Wins High-Profile Contest Against Chaparral

Rampart faced Chaparral in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Rams put the hurt on the Wolverines with a sharp 3-0 win. For the Rams, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 victory the Wolverines walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2018.

Rampart's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Gabriella Melecio, who had 17 digs and four assists. That's the most assists Melecio has posted since back in September. Another player making a difference was Ariana Clarose, who had 13 digs.

The win made it two in a row for Rampart and bumps their season record up to 20-2. As for Chaparral, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-6 record this season.

Rampart wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Windsor on the 1st. As for Chaparral, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-2 win against Lutheran on the 1st.
