Baseball Recap: Tioga Comes Up Short

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Tioga's offense. They came up short against the Sam Rayburn Rebels on Tuesday, falling 10-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Rebels: they've now lost three in a row.

Tioga saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gage Anderson, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases. Anderson has become a key player for Tioga: the team is 3-1-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 3-6 otherwise.

Tioga now has a losing record of 6-7-1. As for Sam Rayburn, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-2-1 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Tioga is set to challenge their familiar foe Ector at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Sam Rayburn will face off against rival Tom Bean at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Sam Rayburn 4, Tom Bean 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
