Soccer Game Preview: Voyager Academy vs. NCSSM: Durham + Official Tickets

The Voyager Academy Vikings will face off against the NCSSM: Durham Unicorns at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Voyager Academy is headed into Monday's matchup following a draw, the team's first since September 15. They and Raleigh Charter finished up their match with a 0-0 draw on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, NCSSM: Durham's game on Wednesday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of Triangle Math & Science by a score of 1-0. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as NCSSM: Durham came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 72nd, while Triangle Math & Science are ranked 219th).

With that draw, Voyager Academy's record moves to 8-7-2. As for NCSSM: Durham, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 15-1-1.

Voyager Academy suffered a grim 9-1 defeat to NCSSM: Durham when the teams last played back in September. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Vikings were down 5-1.
