Baseball Game Preview: Southern Lee Cavaliers vs. Scotland Fighting Scots

The Southern Lee Cavaliers will challenge the Scotland Fighting Scots at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Southern Lee 3.4, Scotland 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.

While Southern Lee didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 9-4 win over South View on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cavaliers.

Ben Harrington made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Harrington was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Bryan McCollum was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Michael Blanks, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Scotland waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the Bucks get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory. While the Fighting Scots didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-11), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Southern Lee's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Scotland, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 4-1.

Southern Lee took their win against Scotland when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 15-3. Will Southern Lee repeat their success, or does Scotland have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
