Basketball Recap: Ridgecroft Skates Past Northeast Academy with Ease

Ridgecroft won against Lawrence Academy two weeks ago with 68 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Tuesday. The Ridgecroft Rams really took it to the Northeast Academy Eagles for the full four quarters, racking up a 68-28 win. With the Rams ahead 43-7 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Ridgecroft's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Javion Leary, who went 5 of 6 on his way to 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Antron Gray, who posted eight points in addition to five assists and three steals.

Ridgecroft smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive rebounds in seven consecutive matches.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Chance Lassiter, who earned 11 points. Another player making a difference was Jake Parks, who scored six points.

Ridgecroft has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for Northeast Academy, they dropped their record down to 4-10 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Ridgecroft beat Northeast Academy by a score of 67-29 on Wednesday.
