Baseball Recap: Nicholas County Takes a Loss

Nicholas County lost against Shady Spring on April 9th, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Grizzlies fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 9-8.

Caleb Burns made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. Coleton Hellems was another key player, going 2-for-5 with one home run and three RBI.

Nicholas County's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Shady Spring, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-10-1 record this season.
