Softball Game Preview: Lutheran West Longhorns vs. St. Martin de Porres Lions

The Lutheran West Longhorns will square off against the St. Martin de Porres Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. St. Martin de Porres took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Lutheran West, who comes in off a win.

Lutheran West is looking to give their home crowd another W after opening their season at home on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Valley Forge 22-21.

Emerson 'Emmy' Hayes was incredible, scoring six runs and stealing nine bases while getting on base in all six of her plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in hits (three). Another player making a difference was Kailyn Caster, who went 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.

St. Martin de Porres kicked off their season on the road on Monday and hit a couple of potholes. They lost 21-5 to Lorain.

St. Martin de Porres saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Char'Rion Smith, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Alisha Fluker was another, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.
