Softball Recap: Georgetown Day Mighty Hoppers vs. Episcopal Maroon

With a playoff game on the line, Georgetown Day rose to the challenge on Friday. They walked away with an 18-15 win over the Episcopal Maroon. Winning may never get old, but Georgetown Day sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.

The team relied heavily on Ella Lynn, who scored three runs and stole five bases while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Lia Oremland, who scored three runs and stole four bases while going 3-for-4.

Georgetown Day has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for Episcopal, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Georgetown Day will challenge Sidwell Friends at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Georgetown Day knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with flashy run totals in its past nine games -- so hopefully Sidwell Friends likes a good challenge. Episcopal does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
