The matchup between South Iredell and Alexander Central on Friday hardly resembled the 7-2 effort from their previous meeting. The Vikings secured a 48-44 W over the Cougars. The victory almost wasn't to be: the Vikings were down 28-12 in the second quarter.

A big part of South Iredell's win came down to the chemistry between Tristan Cowan and his top target Brody Hunt. Cowan threw for 424 yards and seven touchdowns while picking up 12.5 yards per attempt while Hunt picked up 312 receiving yards and four scores. Those four receiving touchdowns gave Hunt a new career-high.

South Iredell didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Q Govan and Xavier Farley. Farley also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with nine. Another thorn in Alexander Central's side was Rashad Howell, who picked up a sack and made ten total tackles (2.0 for loss).
