Basketball Recap: Central Valley Picks Up Sixth Straight Win on the Road

On Thursday, the Central Valley Cougars didn't have too much trouble with the Sandhills/Thedford Knights as they won 62-44.

Central Valley got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Taesian Soto out in front who went 5 of 11 en route to 12 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. Another player making a difference was Cordel Wagner, who went 6 for 8 on his way to 12 points.

Central Valley's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-6. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.2 points per game. As for Sandhills/Thedford, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Central Valley Cougars challenge the Newman Grove/St. Edward Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on February 13th.
