Football Recap: Garber Starts off Right with Win over Canton

Garber had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 48-0 win over the Canton Tigers. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Wolverines just coasted through the last quarter.

Aiden Johnson had a dynamite game, throwing for 249 yards and five TDs on only 13 passes. Those five passing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Cord Southwick handled things on the ground, rushing for 103 yards.

Garber didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Colton Deeds and Cayden Ramsey.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Garber will venture away from home to square off against Drumright at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Canton, they are headed away from home for the first time to challenge Geary at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
