Volleyball Recap: Chester's Undefeated Season over After Six Games

Chester lost against Redding Christian back in October of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Volcanoes fell 2-0 to the Lions. The loss put an end to the Volcanoes' undefeated start to the season.

Emma Latta-Shaw paced Chester's offense, picking up four kills. Latta-Shaw were helped by Kylie Kistle and Hailey Delong, who contributed three assists each. Kistle was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Redding Christian was led to victory by Kamalia Mizuta and Charlotte Evans. Mizuta had six aces, three digs, and one block, while Evans had four digs. The dominant performance also gave Evans a new career-high in kills (four).

Having lost for the first time this season, Chester fell to 5-1. As for Redding Christian, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Chester didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Paradise Adventist Academy on the 26th. As for Redding Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-2 win against Trinity on the 26th.
