Softball Recap: Trinity Hall Gets the Win

11 must be Trinity Hall's lucky number: they beat Neptune with that score not once but twice on Tuesday. Trinity Hall didn't even let Neptune on the board, marking Trinity Hall's second-straight 11-0 shutout. Trinity Hall hasn't had any issues with Neptune recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Emma Mullins made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than 11 strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs and six RBI while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Avery Donohue was a standout: she got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those two runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooke Werdann, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Trinity Hall always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Neptune only posted an OBP of .222.

The victory got Trinity Hall back to even at 3-3. As for Neptune, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Trinity Hall didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 8-6 win against Rumson-Fair Haven on the 15th. As for Neptune, they have also already played their next game, a 16-15 victory against Lakewood on the 16th.
