Baseball Game Preview: Foothill Tech Dragons vs. Fillmore Flashes

The Foothill Tech Dragons are taking a road trip to take on the Fillmore Flashes at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Foothill Tech will be strutting in after a victory while Fillmore will be coming in after a loss.

While Dragons fans will have to keep waiting for their team to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Saturday's season opener. They were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over St. Monica on Saturday.

Foothill Tech gave Connor Nelles the start and clearly made the right call: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Cooper Casey was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2025. Davin Arth was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, Fillmore might've scored the first runs on Wednesday, but it was Grace who claimed the real prize. The Flashes fell just short of the Lancers by a score of 5-3. The defeat continues a trend for the Flashes in their meetings with the Lancers: they've now lost eight in a row.

JJ Jasso was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one run and one double.

Foothill Tech was able to grind out a solid win over Fillmore in their previous meeting back in May of 2025, winning 7-4. Will the Dragons repeat their success, or do the Flashes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
