Canton put another one in the bag  on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed past the Wills Point Tigers to the tune of  63-7. The  game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached  49-7.
Canton got their  win on the backs of several key players, but it was  Cort Ray out in front who rushed for 104 yards and a pair of  touchdowns on only eight carries, and also threw for 272 yards and three  TDs while completing 72.7% of his passes. Those  104  rushing yards gave  Ray a new career-high. Canton's leading receiver  Ethan Lewis was  Ray's top target yet again, picking up 170 receiving yards and three  scores.
 Canton's run defense was locked in: Wills Point could only muster 2.8 yards per carry. The Eagles didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 8.3.
 Canton didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as  Lukas Hughs,  Lathan Pruitt,  and  Casen French picked up one apiece.
Canton's victory bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Wills Point, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record  this season.
 Canton wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next  matchup,  a  58-15  win against Ferris on the 23rd. As for Wills Point, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  game,  a  36-7  victory against Kemp on the 23rd.
