Softball Game Recap: Lewis Lancers vs. Edison Eagles

Lewis had lost three straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped down to 3-10 to make it four. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 18-7 to the Edison Eagles, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, with their most recent loss being a 18-7 defeat on Thursday.

Baylee Stevens was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Isabella Apodaca was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs.

As for Edison, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-2. Considering they have won five games by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

On Edison's side, Caitlin Brickley and Marley Jackson did most of the damage at the plate: Brickley went 3-for-4 with five runs, two RBI, and one double, while Jackson got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Katie Gallegos, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Lewis will face off against rival Hayfield at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Edison is set to challenge their familiar foe Justice at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
