Basketball Recap: Preston Beats Perkins-Tryon for Their Fifth Straight Win

Preston waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They snuck past the Perkins-Tryon Demons with a 41-37 win. Given the Pirates' advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while the Demons are ranked 182nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Preston pushed their record up to 10-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.8 points per game. As for Perkins-Tryon, they moved to 5-4 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

When Preston and Perkins-Tryon next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Preston will try to stop Dale's three-game winning streak when the meet at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Perkins-Tryon will square off against Kiefer and their six-game winning streak at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
