Recap: Garden Plain Owls vs. Ellsworth Bearcats
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Garden Plain Owls can now relate to. They fell just short of Ellsworth by a score of 34-31. Garden Plain's defeat signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.
Several Owls players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Gage Lee, who rushed for 165 yards. Lee hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for three straight games.
Ellsworth had a senior duo take command as Loden West rushed for 111 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries and Ian Andalon-silva rushed for 142 yards and two touchdowns. West hasn't dropped below sixsolo tackles for five straight games.
Garden Plain's loss dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Ellsworth, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-1.
Garden Plain does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Ellsworth will take on Norton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Norton is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
