Baseball Recap: Six Straight Home Wins for Lutheran

There's no place like home for Lutheran, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They skirted past the Green Mountain Rams 3-1.

Jack Poe tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Jack Wesolowski was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Sanders, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Lutheran pushed their record up to 6-4 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for Green Mountain, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3-1.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Lutheran Lions face off against Resurrection Christian Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lutheran's pitchers better be ready for this one: Resurrection Christian has averaged an impressive 8.3 runs per game this season. As for Green Mountain, they will be playing at home against Dakota Ridge at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
