Recap: Thompson Valley Eagles vs. Niwot Cougars
In what's become a running theme this season, the Thompson Valley Eagles gave their fans yet another huge win on Saturday. They breezed by Niwot at home to the tune of 76-42. With Thompson Valley ahead 42-16 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
It was another big night for Brady Kennison, who scored 21 points along with five assists and four steals. Kennison is crushing the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Dom Shideler, who scored 15 points.
Despite the defeat, Niwot saw an underclassman step up: LT Lehman scored ten points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lehman has scored all season. Rohit Das was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Thompson Valley has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. As for Niwot, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-14.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Thompson Valley will challenge Skyline at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Averaging 69.68 points so far this season, Thompson Valley's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so Skyline better be ready for a challenge. As for Niwot, they will head out on the road to challenge Frederick at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Frederick will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Niwot surely won't give up without a fight.
