Baseball Game Preview: Mesquite Wildcats vs. O'Connor Eagles

The Mesquite Wildcats will challenge the O'Connor Eagles at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.

Mesquite can't be too happy about their upcoming road game considering what happened when they opened their season away from home on Wednesday. They came up short against Basha, falling 9-2.

Meanwhile, O'Connor took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 win over Notre Dame Prep.

O'Connor secured the victory behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Brent Sollars, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Everything went Mesquite's way against O'Connor in their previous matchup back in February of 2025, as Mesquite made off with a 16-8 win. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
